Coffs Harbour marina
The past few days have been very hot, but luckily the ocean here is very refreshing, and once the concrete deck on the marina is too hot to stand on, the old standby of jumping under the sprinkler works great.
All the work to prepare the boat for the NZ voyage has been done - now to prepare the crew who may find it strange to have to work with a young captain, as the SM is now the YM, or as suggested 'just stick to your role of cabin boy'. Let's hope the Tasman Ocean is not ' No country for old men'.
Taking a leaf from other old folks reminds me of the what may happen at sea next week if I remark 'It's windy today" and another SM's says - ' No it's Thursday' and the other SM says 'I'm thirsty also - time for a beer'. Should be a lot of fun.
And talking about fun- Coffs Harbour hosted a Surf Carnival on the week-end - incredible display of Aussie men and women surf lifesavers. ER and the YM have now seen poster Aussies doing the surf things. While we concentrated on the surf row boat competitions, we noted others reviewing the ladies in briefs labelled 'Aussiebum'.
Anyhoo - we had another BBQ, with the wine tab matching the food tab - that's the right ratio isn't it?
Cheers
