In the Tasman Sea 120 nm East of Coffs Harbour
30 32S 155 24 E tlog 18129 (start 18005)
Boat speed 7-8, wind NE 10 - 25 knots, COG 100t
Distance to top of NZ 865
Barometer 1025.1
Nice start- SE wind at 15knots dropping and turning to the NE after 6 hours - full main and #1 jib - followed the wind until we were heading for Qld so we tacked - after consultation with a mini ocean liner who laughed when we vhf'd we were going to NZ - Lots of ships about until nightfall.
Had a delicious Doug G chicken stew with rice and peas - at 3 times the portions of previous voyages so everyone was certainly well-fed, and it all stayed down.
Bouncy night so now we are more comfy with the staysail and #4 reef tooling along at 7 to 8 in 1 2 metre sea. Would not suit everyone. Breakfast was postponed although beer and peanuts are always good.
Makin' time in the Tasman.
Your getting used to it again crew
